Garrett Crochet Cy Young refers to real MLB voting history: the Red Sox ace finished as the American League Cy Young Award runner-up in 2025, a genuinely elite result, though he has not actually won the award. This distinction matters, since “Cy Young” searches sometimes assume a win that did not happen. This guide covers the real facts.
The Real 2025 Result
Crochet finished second in AL Cy Young voting for the 2025 season, backing up an 18-5 record, 2.59 ERA, and a league-leading 255 strikeouts across 205.1 innings. This runner-up finish followed his first full season as a starter with Boston after being traded from the Chicago White Sox.
2026 Outlook
Crochet entered 2026 as a leading Cy Young candidate before injuries limited him to just six starts through late April, effectively ending any realistic 2026 Cy Young case given his extended absence.
