Materials and Pattern
- About 160 yards worsted weight yarn
- A 5.0mm hook
- A piece of stiff interfacing for the brim, optional
- Work the standard beanie body as usual, following a circle increase pattern into straight rounds.
- Crochet a separate half-circle brim piece, worked flat in double crochet.
- Sew the brim to the front of the finished beanie, adding interfacing between layers if a stiffer brim is desired.

Does the brim need extra stiffening?
A layer of stiff interfacing sewn between two brim pieces holds its curved shape much better than yarn alone, which tends to flop without added structure.
